Stratford, Nov. 25.
A lengthy charge sheet will bs presented to Mr. A, Crookc, G.M., on Friday. Included in the eases are several charges of breaches or the licensing lav/ preferred against a Stratford licensee. Another publican io being proceeded against in connection with a motor-car accident a few weeks ago. An ex-publican is being proceeded against for being on licensed premises after hours. There is a great scarcity of poultry in town, and the Stratford Hospital Board is advertising for acme.
Owing probably to the epidemic, the annual meeting of the Stratford County Council, set duvn for Wednesday, has beei! abandoned, by order, for the time being.
Very few people arc travelling by railway nowaday.?. The express train this morning looked ?. succession of empty carriages, while passengers by the Whangamomona train liav© been very few, and the cutting-out of three trains each week will not. inconvenience passengers very raucL'-v/l:i!j the epidemic continues. What effect, it will have on getting goods out is ajiotier matcAV.
