A DESERVING CASE.
I THB BBDCB FOND. ; The generosity of <tfh<e public when a genuine case of distress is brought under their notice is shown by the response made again yesterday to the appeal on behalf of Mrs. Bruce and her four young children, who were bereft of their breadwinner last week and left penniless. From as far away as Toko came a (handsome donation of £6, accompanied by a letter full of sympathy for the bereaved ones and appreciation of the effort being made to succor them. An anonymous donation of 10s camo all the way from Opun&ke, whilst the New Plymonth citizens responded magnificently, as they always do when they are appealed to. Altogether yesterday's donations amounted to £26 19a, bringing the ■fund to £SI Hs.
