TARANAKI BOWLING CENTRE. MEETING OF EXECUTIVE. A meeting of the executive of the Taranaki Bowling Centre was held in the New Plymouth's Club's pavilion on Friday, when there were present: Messr?, J. T). Sole (chairman), A K. Smart, F. J. Hill, F- H. Jackson, and 0. N. Firth (secretary) I '. Messrs A. K. Smart. F. .T. Hill, F. IT. Jackjon. and J- D. Sole were appointed a committee to arrange the banner fixtures for the northern division. Messrs W. McDonald (Central) and W- Lambie (Western) are to he notified that the district scheme has been carried and are to be asked to arrange banner drawings for their districts.
It was decided that the annual tournament commence on Monday, January 07, 1010, at 1 p.m., and that Messrs Hill, Smart, Sole, and Firth act as the Tournament Committee.
The following alterations have been made to the rules governing the tournament: —■
All rinlcs having as many win's as the lowest section winner, or tie for section, so into the semi-final.
After section play is concluded* the' two losses principle is to ibo applied, Tinners to play winners and losers to plav losers. The time allotted for the first after noon's game each day was fixed at 2%' hours. If the game is then unfinished, it must he completed at the end of each day's play.
A match is to lie instituted called tie Citizens' 'Match. It is to he open to all rinks ineligible to play in the semifinal''. Pc.st entries will close at 8 p.m. on Wednesday,' January 29. Prizes will ■he awarded winners and runncrs-up. Each section will find its own winner, and semi-finals, will be decided on the sudden-death principle-
