SPECIAL LOAN OP £4O,(KM). Gouncil of the Borough of New Plymouth hereby gives public notice that it proposes to borrow by way of special loan the sum of £40,000. The particular purposes for which the loan is required are: TO provide additions and extensions to the Electric Lighting and Power Works eitller within or without the Borough and to supply electricity, to acquire or provide in connection witli such additions and extensions lands, easements and appurtenances and buildings, tunnels, weirs, reservoirs, engines, machinery and other things, to pay compensation to any person injuriously affected and any other purposes incidental or in relation to any of the above purposes.

The sum proposed to be borrowed for all such purposes is £40,000 at a rate of interest not exceeding £5 109 per centum per annum with a sinking fund of one per cent, additional. The proposed security for the said loan of £40,000 and the interest and sinking fund thereon is an annually recurring special rate of GJd in the £, on the annual value of all rateable property in the said Borough, and it is proposed to pay the said loan on the Ist day of APRIL 1933. It is proposed to pay out of the Loan the cost of raising the Loan and the interest and sinking fund thereon for the First year. A Poll of the ratepayers will be taken on the above proposal on WEDNESDAY the 27th day of NOVEMBER 1918. DATED the 26th day of OCTOBER, 1918. C. a BURGESS, Mayor of the Borough of New Plymouth. F. T.
