POLITICAL NOTES.

REFORM CAUCUS MEETING. A SIGNIFICANT RESOLUTION. (Our Parliamentary Reporter.) Wellington, Nov. 14. A cauues of Reform members met yesterday and completed their deliberations ii'-ii;u. ine oludal report states that the Reform members were all present or accounted for, that many important matters were discussed, that the members were unanimous on the more important points, and that three resolutions were adopted. Ine lirst two resolutions express the opinion that New Zealand should be represented at the Peace Conterence, and pledge the Reform Party to expedite the necessary Parliamentary work and to Support the Government in a scheme of repatriation that will be satisfactory to the patriotic people of .this country; " The third resolution is the one that will attract most attention. It reads as follows: —"That in view of the insidious spread of revolutionary and anarchistic doctrines, this party is of opinion that the more responsible elements in the New Zealand Parliament should unite for the purpose of inculcating sound democratic principles and giving effect to a policy which will stimulate the sentiments of patriotism and loyalty of Empire for which New Zealand has always been noted"'

The significance of this resolution is appreciated in the lobbies, where discussion on party lines has been resumed with almost startling suddenness since the signing of the armistice. It amounts to a suggestion that a section of the Liberal Party should join forces with the Reform Party in order to-oppose the extreme Labor faction. The Libera] members have not yet met their leader in formal caucus- during the present session.
