It is officially announced that tfie German women have appealed to the American women to intercede for a modification of the armistice terms, in order to prevent famine in Germany. MARSHAL FOCH HONORED. BY THE AMERICAN FORCES. Received Nov. 15, 5.25 p.m. ■London, Nov. 14. General Pershing, in the name of the United Government, invested Marshall Foch, at a special parade at Senlii, with the American Distinguished Service Medal. General Persliing assured Marshal Foch that the great services lie lmcl rendered the United States would never be forgotten. Marshal Foch, replying, said the name of the Meuse may be inscribed proudly upon the American flag. GERMAN WOMEN'S APPEAL,

TO MODIFY TERMS. PROPOSED CELEBRATION OF PEACE Received Nov. 15,11.55 p.m. Washington, Nov. 14.

Reports that are reaching the State Department state that conditions approaching anarchy exist in Germany and Austria, owing to the misbehaviour of the returning soldiers. A German women's appeal is addressed to the President's wife by Jane Adams. The appeal said: "If the terms are not modified, German women will die by the million."

Representative Fees has introduced a resolution in the House for setting July 14, 1919, as a day of world, celebration of the ending of the war, and inviting the Allied Governments and Central Powers to participate therein at Washington.—Aus. and N.Z. Cable Asboc. NEW CREDIT FOR ITALY. New York. Nov. 14. The United States has extended to Italy a further credit of a hundred million dollars.
