WOMEN'S PATRIOTIC COMMITTER
The Mayoress thanks Master Cecil Bremahl and four little school children for giving their Guy Fawka's money to the soldiers; also tha Waiongona School ehildrsn for a donation of 10a for Y.M.C7A.
Mr Hale, .of the Trocadero, kas donated a nearly new O.K. Washing Machine to the Mayoress, to be sold for soldiers' Work. The machine may oe seen any time at the Patriotic jlepot, St- Aubyn street.
The Victoria League Sewing Guild forwarded a donation of £6 to the Solvation Army Institute, xtotorua, with the wish that the amount be uned to provide free refreshment for the soldiers after the Sunday evening services. Captain Hayes, who is a returned soldier permanently maimed, in acknowledging fee donation to Mrs Burgess, says: N "Tour kind expressions with regard to our work for the returned boys only tend to spur us on to renewed effert in the inheres of the men who have sacrificed all in the cause of liberty." The Sewing Guilds also donated £3 towards the/local Red Cross Our 'Day Appeal. The New Plymouth Women's Patriotic Committee acknowledge with, thanks gifts of condensed milk, sweets, mitten*, socks, facewashers, from the following:—Mre A. J. Hoskin, Mrs Catran, Mrs Thompson,.
