FRENCH CAPTURES.
ENEMY'S HEADLONG RETREAT. Nov. 7. A French communique states: Our indefatigable troops continued to pursue the enemy all day between the Sambve and the Meusc, shuttering local resistances. We advanced ten kilometres at certain points and liberated numerous civilians. The enemy, harassed by our advanced guards, abandoned everywhere during his headlong retreat prisoners, guns, and material, which ihave hitherto not been counted. East of the Sambre we leached the eastern outskirts of Le Nenvion and Regnaval forests. We captured farther south Vcrvins, and north of the town ■we are advancing beyond the Serre. The Italians crossed the Hurtaux and by assault stormed Rozoy-sur-Serre. To the north of the Aisue wo are twelve kilometres north of Chateau Porcien. We captured Rethel and advanced eix kilometres north of the town. The cavalry here charged and captured a battery of field guns and a battery of 4in. guns, with the gunners and teams.—Aus. N.Z. Cable Assoc, and Reuter.
