EVERYBODY'S. DUSTIN FARNUM IN "DURAND OF THE BAD LANDS." Patrons to Everybody's to-night will enjoy one of the strongest picture programmes ever screened in this town. Amongst the items to be submitted is the final episode of the popular serial, the "Mystery of the Double Cross," a fine Yitagraph story of an Irish lad and his troubles and love affairs, entitled "His Own People," with Harry Morey and Gladys Leslie in the lead, and a William Fox Special feature, "Durand of the Bad Lands," in which the ever popular Dustin Farnum takes the chief part. Mr Farnum has a mighty, fine story in "Durand of the Bad Lands," and in every part of the tale he shows his masterly acting to fine effect. He roams the Bad Lands an outlaw. He steals cattle with as shrewd an instinct for covering up his trail as any man wlio ever was "wanted" in those old bygone days. But for a woman or a child his hand is raised only to help. He rescues three children from Indians who massacre everyone else in the settlement. He falls in love with a girl who sees only the big, noble side of his character. And when !he realises lii-s life is wrong, it is to these he goes and ever after he's as useful a citizen as he was a bad "bad man." It's a fine picture. Don't miss it.
THE EMPIRE. VIOLA DANA IN" "A WEAVER OF DREAMS" TO-NIGHT. The cliief feature of the Empire programme to-night is the starring of Viola Dana in the Metro feature, "A Weaver of Dreams." Viola Dana now is takiog her turn at sorrow, for "The Weaver of Dreams" is a pathetic little picture, with story hinging upon the bit of philosophy "What is mine 1 shall have. Nothing that is truly mine can he taken away from me. What is not mine, I do not want." '"The Weaver of Dreams" is probably the first picture that lhas sacrificed Viola to anothei girl's romance. Yet even here the story gives her disappointment rather than unhappiness, for, though her love-letters are curling up upon the hearth, there is hope still in the card-reader's prophecy. Viola in "Weaver of Dreams" is a little girl whose lover proved unfaithful just before the marriage. it is one of the best stories Viola hits ever had for it brings out hoc genius for pathos, and all iher girlish jov that comes before her ultimate vistfulness has its proper surroundings. Behind Miss Dana in this play are several fairly well-known artists. The hero is not a hero, not a villain —just a man, weak in places and strong on othei tilings. Altogether, "Weaver of Dreams" will be found to be a quite satisfactory human story, even though it is a little bit pathetic. It is backed by another chapter of the popular serial, ".A. Lass of the Lu mberj !and3," which concludes nest -week.
