FIRES.

AN 01/t> UUILMNG DESTROYED. Hastings, Nov. 5. A fire early this morning completely gutted a two-storey building in Heretaui.ga Street, owned by Knight Eros-, of Dannevirke, and occupied by Hyde, tobacconist; Hinde, confectioner; and upstairs by Wolf, tailor. It was an old Wooden structure, and burned like tinder. In a Jew minutes the next building, belonging to tho same owners and occupied by Armstrong, jeweller, and the Jilson Shoo Co., was ablaze. The brigade saved part of the latter building, but the stocks were badly damaged by smoke and water. Tho insurances so far n.vaila'iie are: Hyde's stock, £230 in the Phoenix, £-231) in the Atlas, £3OO in the Northern ITninn. Armstrong was insured for £4OO in the Soutli British.
