WORKERS' COUNCIL.
MONTHLY MEETING. The monthly meeting of the Taranaki Workers' Council was held in Griffiths' Buildings on Friday, November 1. There was a good attendance. A report was received concerning weevil-infected dried fruits recently landed at the breakwater. It transpired that the vessel was no stranger to the weevil pest as she had been engaged in the copra trade and was supposed to have been fumigated before the dried fruits were loaded into her. The health authorities have decided that if the fruit is placed in cold storage for a while the weevils will die. Regarding the price of meat in New Plymouth, it was reported that all meat shops were charging the same, prices, and that there was little chance of any reduction. The enrolment •committee made arrangements to get busy with both, municipal and electoral enrolling. It was decided to protest, through, the member for the district, against the action of the Public Health Department in not subjecting the b.s. Niagara to quarantine. It was reported that the vessel had been quarantined at a port in Australia, and as she arrived in New Zealand with an infectious disease on board it is not understood why similar precautions were not taken at the New Zealand port' A committee was set up to consider ways and means of erecting a trades hall in New Plymouth. This idea is being enthusiastically taken up by delegates, as it is felt that a good hall is needed here. It was decided that the social committee should go into the matter of holding another social, and report at next meeting.

Rheumatism, Gout, Sciatica or Lumbago is caused by the presence of uric acid in the blood. This must be eliminated from tho system before a complete cure can be effected. RHEUMO seldom fails to neutralise and expel this urie acid. Read a. well-known Christchurcb. Hotel proprietor's experience: "I suffered very greatly from Rheumatic Gout for "quite fnrteen years, and tried almost every remedy suggested by my friends and - medical practitioners, but with very little relief. About three years ago I was strongly advised to try RHEUMO. I did so, '!i-l with the'greatest satisfaction. I i!!vc a little twinge now and then, but RHEUMO puts me right at once."
