Hawker seconded an amendment , that the amount be increased-to £a,000,OCP. The mover and seconder, of each resolution spoke forcefully in support and so as to permit of .full discussion it was decided to hold over discussion of each until all were before the meeting. Some interesting addresses were given by Messrs. Johns, Cocker and Tiockell, after which the first two resolutions and the third as amended were earned. It wa.s also resolved to forward copies of the resolutions to the -mem* bers ,of the Cabinet, Taranaki members. of Parliament and members of the Legislative ■ Council. A vote of thanks to the chair terrain: i ated. the meeting.
