(who has sold his estate to the Government) oii tlio farm, of all his live stock, implements and furniture. The weather was, unfortunately, wet all the afternoon- Buyers were in attendance from all parts of the district and considering the backwardness of the spring season a very satisfactory sale resulted. The feature of the sale was the excellent quality of the 17G0 ewes and lambs whkli were yarded in several lots at great trouble to the vendor in order to suit small purchasers- The C and S tooth ewes with 100 per cent lambs made 375, £2 2s, £2 '2s 3d and £•?. 2s 3d. The 5 and li-;, car ewes with 100 per cent lambs made 30s 9d; dry ewes 31s 3d; Lincoln rams £3 3s in lines; Romney rams made 1J guineas; aged rams £1 Is to 1% guineas; dairy cows £l2 to £ls; calf 2Gs; 2-year steers ('95) £S 3s, draught horses £24 to £25. The furniture aud implements made very full values.

On Friday, 25tli October, we held our usual monthly sale in our Tarata yard=. We had a full yarding including Mr Officers sheep and cattle, he having .sold his farm, oliered his stock without reserve.
