FURTHER CELEBRATIONS. IN AUSTRALIA. Received Nov. 1, 10.10 p.m. Sydney, Nov, 1. • The joyous news of the Turkish capitulation and the entry of the Fleet at the Dardanelles was a fitting coincidence with the 'carnival spirit of "Jacks' Day/' and the greatest enthusiasm prevailed- Stalls lined the streets, and the shipping community entered wholeheartedly into the display, a_ feature of which was the number of model vessels mooted in various parts of the city The appeal met with a magnificent response—Aus. Cable Assoc. ; AT AUCKLAND. Flags on public buildings, business places, and shipping were flown. In some of the suburbs the firebells were rung and srteara whistles tooted, while some of the schools observed a halfholiday.—Press Assoc. OTHER CENTRES, Wanganui celebrated cnthusiasticcfly the good news, which was announced by bells, whistles, flags. There was a huge crowd in the Avenue, and a procession was organised, with bands, banners, and Ibeflagged motors, tableaux, etc., patriotic -speeches being made.—Press Assoc. AT M.VEROARGILL. v Invereargill reports remarkable outbursts of spontaneous enthusiasm occurred. Large crowds assembled, and processions were organised. Addresses were delivered at the Post Office Square. : A ATOAMARU. ■/ • - The -news was received here with great rejoicing, bells and wbistles being sounded. At noon a ma3s meeting of citizens and thousands of school children assembled outside the Town Hall to celebrate the evjnt. PaPtriotio music was played by bands, and vigorous addressas given, punctuated by hearty cheering. A united thanksgiving service which was held at the Opera House in the afternoon wan largely attended. A motion was unanimously approved that the citizens of Oamaru express their pleasure
