The Governor and Lady Liverpool arrived at noon. The ring competitions for saddle horses were well filled. Some exciting ontests resulted. MeDowel'3 Papatere won the leaping competition steeplechase style). TT. ITassall** Captain Olossnp was selected as champion Jiack in the saddle horses. HassaU's Micky Free won the heavyweight hacks; Short's Scout the 12 to 14-stone hacks; Hassall's Captain Glossop the lightweights, beating Booth's Lonely. Scout beat Micky Free in the heavyweight hunter class. Hassall's Captain Glossop won the ladies' haek, ; beating Lonely. Lonely was the best shown troop horse. Champion hack of the show, Hassall's Captain Glossop. Best lady rider astride: Miss 0. Mahcr (Hastings) 1, Miss M. Briggs (Morrinsville) 2, Miss C. Bryce (Hinau) 3. Champion Open Hunter: H.
