MERRIMENT IN THE HOUsSE. (Special Correspondent.) Wellington, Oct. 30. Some> laughter was caused in the House on Wednesday afternoon bv a question placed on the Order Paper by Mr. Downie Stewart (Dunedin West). The member wants to know if the Gov. ornment. taking into consideration the delay of the general election and the results of recent by-elections, will submit the nanifl3 of Ministers individually to a vote of the 'House, in order to ascertain whether they individually retain the confidence of the House and incidentally to test 'the efficiency of the elec tive executive. The idea of the Government allowing the House to indicate its attitude towards individual members seemed to amuse members.
