Reference to the war was made at today's conference of delegates from the Associated Chambers of Commerce of New Zealand, and patriotic resolutions were carried, the members standing and singing the National Anthem. Mr. Massey addressed the conference, and congratulated the citizens of the Empire upon the change which had taken place in the last few months, and more particularly the last few weeks, in the military outlook. He did not suppose New Zealand was ever before as prosperous as she was to-day. For tho first nine months of the year the imports totalled £18,232,767 and exports £■22,407,410. Then, it must be remembered'there was £15,000,000 worth of produce in cold storage awaiting ship.ment. They must expect a fall in prices after the war, although the volume of trade would probably bo maintained, 'but a comprehensive policy of development would be necessary. Mr. Massey also referred to shipping and trade. • SEAMEN'S RISK BONUS. Wellington, Yesterday. Recently, in response to the request of the Merchant Service Guild for a risk bonus of £3 per month, the Shipowners' Federation offered to pay the £3.
