BEE-KEEPING.
A public demonstration in the abovenamed work took place on Monday last at the. apiary of Mr. E. Beale. Mr. 1? A. .Tas-obsen. who js the instructor in charge of the Taranaki and 1 Wellington district, was in charge. A large number of beekeepers were present, including some from Tahoia, Waitoitoi, Tariki, and Leppcrton! 3 ■» Every phase of beekeeping, except honey extraction, was shown. The ne.lff system of control, known as the "Hand,** was shown, and two hives were divided. Grafting queen colls on the combs of a queenless colony seemed quite an everyday pastime to the expert Foul brood was shown and carefully explained by Mr. .tacohsen, also the method of control and cure. In conclusion, Mr Jacobsen complimented Mr. Bcalo nn the capital state of his apiarv, which would do credit to an older and more experienced man.
