METHODIST PATRIOTIC DAY.
The Methodists of the New Plymouth circuit, which includes a number of the surrounding country districts, are having a patriotic effort on Saturday, November 16, on behalf of funds for the Women's Patriotic Committee, the Red Cross Society and the Y.M.C.A. An appeal ia being made to the whole of the Methodist community, and as the proceeds are to be divided between the work of three of the most popular war institutions, it is confidently expected the effort will receive big support. The country people may he relied' upon to give generously of home-made foodstuffs and dairy and farm produce, and the townsfolk already have committees formed and are working industriously for "'the day." As an adjunct to the effort, a concert is to be given in the Good Templar Hall on Wednesday, November 13. An excellent programme is being arranged, and in addition to local and" visiting singers, who are always popular wit)i New Plymouth audiences, some artists who have never before appeared hero will assist.
