Their mission is to visit the Mannwatu Show and interview stockowners with a view to securing entries for the Stratford Show, which takes place at the end of this month. The holiday yesterday passed off very quietly here. A number of the oporting fraternity journeyed to Waverley, whilst a good many went to the Ngaere Gardens, others visiting New Plymouth. The only attraction here was a progressive pairs tournament at the howling green, where, despite the fact that the weather was rather keen, there was a good attendance, some good howling being shown. The results were as follow, five games of 13 heads each being played:—Skips: R. Mc.K. Morison, 5 wins: S. jr. Poritt, F. McDonald 4 each; Hodges, 3: Nicholson, 2: Edgecombe. J. W- McMillan, J.
