Six motormen have been dismissed by the Tramwav Board for breach of the regulations in connection with the goslow policy of the union. At a meeting of the union yesterday, drastic action was advocated, but eventually the members agreed to wait -mtil the general public had had au opportunity of realfo. uig -what had taken place. It waa resolved—"The union adheres to its previous" decisions and demands the Wellington terms, and that no negotiations be entered into with the board until the victimised men are reinstated unconditionally" It was also resolved to "appeal to organised Labor throughout Ne\y Zealand to have this injustice removed and the Christchurch tramwaymen given a square deal," In an official statement, the union seoretary says the 1\ per cerit. increase wanted by the hoard is not considered adequate to .enable the ftr.imwaymen to maintain a decent standard of living without gettting jnto debt.
