Present indications arc l'or high southerly and south-easterly winds northwards of Jfare•ivell Spit mid Kaikoura, and increasing easterly to northerly winds elsewhere. A continuance oi' unsettled weather is probable, with rain generally, and heavy rain and flooded rivers in the east coast districts of the North Island. Tho barometer is unsteady, with a falling tendency soon in the south.
