PIERROTS' FANCY DRESS BALL.
Tile above grand bail, which is to takf place in the Coronation Hall to-mor-row evening promises to be the toll ot the year. The hall is being es 'pecially organised by Mr. J. Iloskin, who has recently armed from Wanganui; in which town he has raised some hundreds of pounds for patriotic purposes. He w very pleased indeed with the way his committee arc working towards making the function an unbounded success. Kvorv member of the Ball Committee, of winch Tvli'. Eon. Paul is acting-secre-tary, have carried out the duties allotted them in a most thorough manner, and it only remains for the weather to take up and there is no doubt that the Coronation Hall will lw .filled to its. utmost rapacity- In order to give the* judge (Mrs. T. E. Jefcoate) every op-' portunity of judging the various competitions,, all those ladie3 who are appearing in national or Allied dresses are c-speci lly asked to carry the flag of the country or dominion they re representing, and to be there early, so as to ta-ke up their positions in the Grand March, which is to commence sharp at 8.15 ■p.m. The music for this spectacular marc'u will tie supplied by the Citizens' Band. As tliere is every indication of tiers Lain" a very large attendance of the public, Mrs- Burgess (the Mayoress), who, with her Patriotic Ladies' Committee, have the supper arrangements in hand, respectfully asks the public to assist her with donations towards the supper, no spoon-dishes being required.
