HIGH SCHOOL BOARD.
MONTHLY MEETING. The ordinary meeting of the New Plymouth High Schools' Board was held last night, vv.hen there were present: Messrs D. Hutehen (chairman), H. TrimMe, S. 0. Smith, M.P-, K. W- P. Robertson, E. P- Webster, F \V. Atkinson, and Dr. Fookes, Mis« Harr, principal of the Girls' School, reported that the school had re opened for the third term with a roll number of 144, of whom 4!) were boardera.
The question of providing a flagpole ftt the school was referred to Messrs Robertson and Slidden,
Mr. S. G. Smith was requested to interview the Department in eonneetion with obtaining an answer to the board's requisition regarding the equipment of a laboratory.
The chairman, Messrs Eobertson and Webster were appointed a committee to meet, Mr. Smith prior to liis departure for Wellington to discuss matters in con nection with the school-
