The exceptionally warm temperature of the Tropics has left its mark on tho old Rifles' captain, who, nevertheless, says be is feeling fit.

During his stay at the islands he ran across Mr. George Hardy, well known in Eltham, but of late years a resident of Sydney. He found "George" looking particularly well and anxious to know how Eltham was faring. Mangatoki people last week farewelled Joe Carlson. This is his second visit to £he firing line.
