LIFE-SAVING SOCIETY.
MEETING 0!F COMMITTEE. The committee of the North Taranaki Head Centre of the Royal Life-saving Society met on AVednesday evening, there being present: Messrs J. Bennett {in the chair), S. G. Smith, M.P., R. L. 4 Mcllroy, N. A. Christiansen, and P. A. Mathieson (hon. secretary). Apologies for absence were received from Misses I. Gardner and Mclsaac. The following wrote accepting ap.pointments as vice-presidents and forwarding donations:—Miss J. R. Barr, £1 13 (donation); Mrs. M. Dowling, 10s fid; Mr. A- S. Brooker, 10s; Dr. W. R. Wade wrote that he would bo pleased to act as one of the honorary medical officers to the society- Mr. 0. J. Howarth wrote accepting appointment to the committee, and Miss Zaida M. Saston and M. Osborne (Boys' High School), wrote accepting the positions of hon. instructors offered them. Miss J. 1!. Barr, head mistress of the Girls' High School, forwarded the affiliation fee for the school. Donations of 10s fid each were received from Messrs F. Plumtree and R. BarlowThe chairman reported that the subcommittee, consisting of Mr. Mcllroy and himself, which had been appointed to consider means of increasing membership, had come to the conclusion that the only way was for each member to canvass and get as many new members as possible. It was decided that a letter of thanks should be forwarded to Miss L. Jensen for assistance in connection vjith typing- „ Mr. Christiansen gave notice vo move that tie night of the meeting be changed from the second Wednesday to the third Wednesday in the month.
