The vocalists were Madum Violet Murphy, Mrs. Birch-Johnston OVellin"toa), Sergeant-Major Gill, aud Mr. B. L. Cooper, whilt Miss Lcatham's work as pianist was characterised by the grace and Bnlsh which makes her playing so much appreciated. ■ Among the audience were: Mesdames E. A. Walker, Crooke, Blackley, Fookes, C. H. Burgess, J. C. Nicholson, S. Allen, Courtney, Addeabrooke, Matthews, Percy Webster, DennyBrown, ltenaud, Alexander, Greatbach D'Arcy Robertson, G. Kebbell, \V. Newman, P. J'itzherbert, Mortimer-Jones, J. Wilsbn, Ewing, Cooper, N. King, C. McAllum, Brookiuan, Brewster, 0. Samuels, E. Griffiths, Sladden, F G. Hatvie, Bradbury, Martin, B. Chaney, Hammond, Bewley, A. Webster, Medley. H. Stocker, Misses Wade, Blundell, Matthews (2), Wood, Tidy, 0. Mackay, Godfrey, B. King, Curtis, Greatbach (2), M. Thomson, Kirkhy, WynnWilliams, Stephenson-Smith, Bradbury, Webster, Collins, Crooke (2), Whitton (2), Kobb, Giblin, Hempton, Sturtcvant. In answer to a request from members of the Women's Patriotic League, Lepperton, a concert party proceeded thither last Thursday, and gave a very bright entertainment, including the very amusing farce, "Only a Hoax." The audience was a very appreciative one, each item being well received. After the concert the performers were «ntertained at supper, Mrs. Harper Leppet acting as hostess. Those who rendered muSical items were: Mrs. Wilkes. Misses Hirst and D. Bedford, and SergeantMajor Gill. Those who acted in the farce were: Mesdames Bartley, Dell, Misses D. Bedford, S. Thomson, M. Corkill, L. Mills (taking Mlsa, Elsie Bullard's part at a few hours' notice), M. Mouat, Collins, Brewster, Clarke.

PERSONAL. Misses M. and K. Humphries have left for Whanawhanft (Hawke's Bay), where they will be the guests of their sister (Mrs. Beamish). Madam Violet Murphy, during her short stay in New Plymouth, was the guest of Mrs. WaLkcp.

Mrs. Paget, who has been the guest of Mrs. C. E. Mackay (Wanganui), has returned. Mrs. G. H. Fox and Miss E. Fox (Smart Koad) are on a visit to Auckland. Mrs. Fairburn has returned to Wanganui, after a short stay in New Plymouth. Miss B. Matthews returned on Monday after a lengthy visit to Tuihape and Wanganui. Mrs. A. Blundell, who has been visiting New Plymouth, returned to Wanganui to-day. Miss Purchas (Wellington) is the guest of Mrs. F. G. Evans. Miss Wade (Dunedin) is the guest of Miss Wade (New Plymouth). Miss Read and Miss Testar are on a visit to Opunakj. Miss Barr, principal of the Girls' High School, who has been on a short visit to Dunedin, returns to Ntw Plymouth by the mall train to-night. Mrs. and Miss Beaumont (Auckland) are on a visit to New Plymouth. Miss C. Hamerion flngiewood) is the guest of her sister (Mrs. J. E. Wilson). Miss Mace is on a visit to Feilding and Wellington. Mrs. Newton King, who has been on a short visit to Wellington, has returned. Mrs. Harry Fookes is ou ft short visit to Wanganui. Hon. 0. Samuel and Mrs. Samuel left for Wellington this morning. Mrs. Birch—Johnston Teturns to Maketawa to-day, after a short stay in New Plymouth.
