FANCY DRESS BALL.
The members of the Pierrot Patriotic Ball Committee have Sow set to Work m real earnest to make the above function one of the finest of its kind ever seen here. Mr Hosldn, Who a»as undertaken to organise this ball, has had considerable experience in this work, and he is very plsaSe'd at the way things are progressing. The grand march will be a most spectacular event judging from the large numtjer of ladies' who Jiave signified tfteir intention of wearing Allied dresses. There are four tV^^\ m for the late-Best dressed lad? representing eithe-r lugland, Scotland, Iftland or Wales; -best dressed lady ' retire-Seating any of the British dominions; best dressed lady representing any of the Allied countries; best dressed lady wearing a patriotic 1 dress other than those stated; and best dressed gentleman Wearing 1 a patriotic dress. Special arrangements are being made fof the. decorating and lighting of the Coronation Hallj'ajid it is iriitffoaed that the effect will be, most brilliant. The committee are making arrangements for obtaining the services of the Citizens' Btad to supply the music for the grand .march and part of the programme, and they will be assisted by Mrs George'd orchestra. The catering has kifldlyi been undertaken by the Mayoress (Mr* Burgess) and Bier patriotie Ladies' Committee. Patrons are reminded that while it is. expected they wfn appeafr as far as possible in national or allied! costumes, plain or other fancy costumes may be worn.
