CIVIC RECEPTION TO ANZACS, deceived Oct. 17, 7.15 p.m. Sydney, Oct. 17. A spectacular civic reception was given to a large number of the original Anzacsf and other returned troops, it being one of the most enthusiastic demonstrations Sydney has seen during the war period. The floating, but still unpublished, man ors respecting the Kaiser's abdication and Germany's complete back-down intensified the demonstration. Immensa crowds lined the whole route. The Lord Mayor's carriage, drawn hf a specially selected gun team, containing the Lor 4 Mayor and representatives of the Federal and State Governments, led the long procession of flower-decked and flower* pelted troops. A special feature was some of the guns captured by the Aus-< tralian Light Horse in Palestine.
