"THE HOXOR SYSTEM." A MIGHTY SUPER-STUM IN TEN PARTS. Tlw appeal 1 of all art is .simply to the artistic temper, tut tile appeal of a good motion picture with a dramatic plot and a human narrative, skilfully screened, is wide and deep and strong- "Tl:o Honor System," ten-reel iFox feature to he screened next Tuesday and Wednesday at Everybody's has this very strong appeal. "The Honor System" is a very forceful drama that does not waste the time of the audience with those defamatory denunciations that get nowhere, hut works out a real tale of what may easily have happened to a man, and carries the narration of his troubles through a life atmosphere. The picture is rather heavy for the most part. There is a fair amount of illusionary, and therefore beautiful romance; there are occasional gleams of neat humor, but the story in tlio main plunges through much pathos, and tho action is often enough ou tho borderline of the tragic. But "The Honor System" is wholly scp.timental. Its appeal is always to the feelings, the emotions, the sensations_ The little gusts of laughter come as interludes to the ruling passion that is the dominating note- That is where the interest of this Fox creation is based, it is human and : emotional all the time, and therefore can hardly fail in getting abundant attention. "The Honor System" is a clear, connected story, not too complicated. the scenes are laid to strengthen the action, and the photography is clear and good. All tho lea'ding figures s.re personated by WPlWntown Pox players.
EVEEXBOiDS'SLAST NIGHT '01? "NEAIiLYi MAEEIDD." "Xeaily Married," the Goldwyri picture showing finally at Everybody's tonight, is a comedy-drama of tho same type as its forerunner, "Baby Mine," but, i£ anything, its romance and its comedy hits are better. Madge Kennedy is tho heroine here, and her part in the piny gives her opportunities for good work that she has taken to the full, with the result that all patrons will be better pleased with "Nearly Married" than they were with the other. For it has this difference, that, whereas its fun and its interest are not dependent on a couple of funny situations as the key, there is new action, new motives, all the time'. The coi»edv-romance deals principally with 'Miss'Kennedy as ! a prospective bride, but she cannot ! quite mako up her mind definitely that she wania to ibe married, and all the time some new excitement makes her change her mind again. As a consequence, "JTearly Married" i 3 an excellent pictured idea of the eternal feminine, and of the old saw to the effect that lier mind is every changing as the wind. Miss Kennedy ware gowns of maaiy lovely shapes and shades in this film, and. the ever-changing scenes, like the ever-varying mind of the c?ianffteg heroine, jnsJrea Has fctsarty ia •tho-jmefcore that backs «? tho fan very weary. fNearly-'MariiftS*' fa "Woli 1 -sapportea.-

"The Firefly" is, of course, a lady who has had tha misfortune to marry a inan whose character does not come up, to specifications, and therefore the lady has thought it "best for all parties concerned that she should leavfl hiiu. So she finds her way up to tlio gold grounds, and there, in combination with a gaunt old miner who has founded a town which he has called "Tough Luck," after his own experiences. she sets out to be queen of the place. Endowed with grace and charm, and with a happy way of amusing people, the rough miners are very soon at her'heels. There is another romance that pomes into her life and so relieves the narrative from monotony, and the film itself is made interesting by the contrasting pfTootq of thr> dainty lady and her totmrdingi "The Firefly of To"-' Tu»t with it other pictures of Interest.
