PRICES FOR AUSTRALIAN PUTTER. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Cct. ]o. It is reported 111 Wellington that under the new agreement between ibe Australia ijov eminent and the Imperial authorises tiie price tq,bi paid fur Australia butter this season is 175 a per cv.t. Last year the price was lols,with a shave oi" any profit on distribution, which brought the actual price up to 170s The new price represents an advance of about a halfpenny per pound, but the Imperial Government will retain the whole of any profits on distribution in the United Kingdom. Pahiatua, Oct. 15. Mr. J. G. Brechin, member of the Dominion Butter and Cheese Committee, last night received a cable from London stating that the Australian butter output had been purchased by the Imperial Government at 17<5s per cwt, with an option *it same price foi the duration of the war. This price equals Is CJd per pound, and Mr. Erecbin is of opinion that the pr:'.;e offered for the Dominion output will -oe slightly better. The committee will meet Mr Massey shortly. wheit final arrangements will be concluded.

During the annual conference held in Wellington, ihe Xatiocil executive of the Freezers' Union, representing all the men in the freezing and allied trades from Whangarei to the RlniT, pas=ed the following motions:—That. : n the opjnion of the Xational executive, vorkers should ;iot he sent into camp mid their plates taken by Australians; that this executive is conlident that, in view of the limited storage space available, there are ample men available to carry on the woik without bribing them from Australia.
