BOWLING.
- STRATFORD CLUB. At a committee meeting of the Stratford Bowleg Club, held on Monday night, it was decided that bowls the property of the club were not to be taken away from tlie green without the secretary's permission.
Messrs Lyons and McMillan have donated trophies for club play. The Saturday players, with the secretary, are to elect a committee to control Saturday play. Invitations were received from the following clubs for their opening day:—Tnglewood, October 24; New Plymouth, October 24; Opur.ake, October 30: Manaia, November G. Messrs A. D. Merry, W. C. Judd, C. L. Grant, J. H- Robson, J. Paterson, F. O'Connor, J. H. Thompson, T. J. Sheehan. "R. V. Termant, T. Wilson. A. David, and W. H. Cannon were elected members of the club
