WAIWAKAIHO ANNUAL BULL FAIR. THURSDAY NEXT. Dairy farmers throughout the Taranakl province will make no mistake in attending Mr. Newton King's bull fair on Thursday next, when tfcey will have a great yarding of dairy bulls from which they will be able to select a sire for their herd for the coming season. The catalogue presented is undoubtedly the largest and best as yet submitted in this dairying district, and this year's Sale should be in every way just as popular as previous fairs at this yard Wave been. Enquiries have been received and orders filled during the last two or three months from all part 3 of the North Island for Taranaki dairy heifers, and It. Is very noticeable that in most cases the outside buyer selects heifers from a herd where a pedigree sire presides at the head of the herd. In the auction yards throughout the province just recently It has been very noticeable that a pen of yearlings by a wellbred bull has always realised a price much in excess of the ordinary common-garden-variety sort, although in some cases the latter may be better grown cattle for the age. At the Waiwakaiho bull fair this week there will be submitted at the hammer some very highly-bred bulls, and where the number is so large it is hard to individualise (he various vendors' entries, but suffice it to say that, notwithstanding the severe handicap through which all farmors have passed this last winter the quality of oaoh breed will be quite pronounced and recognised on Thursday in the sale ring. In addition to the pedigree bulls, which have all been catalogued by the auctioneer, there is a big number of grade to pijrebred bulls of all breeda, from yearlings up to five years of age, and these should be worth inspecting. Catalogues of the pedigree bulls are obtainjMjlo froro any of the auctioneer's offices. OWing to the large number of entries the sale ■rill commence at 10.45 a.m. nharp, so that vendors and buyers will need to be on the road early. POSTPONEMENT NOTICE.
