THE EMPIRE. WM. RUSSELL IX" "THE FRAME UP." The many fascinating stories of American life and business methods usually deal in some part with the "bosses" and their "gangsters" and their power to work a "frame up" on any individual who may happen to fall into their clutches. In tfhe Mutual de luxe feature, "The Frame Up," showing at the Empire to-night, the real life aspect oi this power is depicted in a story that is full of interest, with an original love theme and plenty of physical excitement. Handsome William Russell plays the leading role, which is sufficient guarantee that there are no dull moments, and he is ably supported by Francelia Billington, who is no stranger to local pic-ture-goers. The supports include a scenic film, the fifth episode of the Bush-man-Bayne serial, "The Great Secret," and a two-reel Vogue comedy, "Bungling Bill's Bow-wows." EVERYBODY'S. LAST NIGHT OF "THE CROSS BEARER." The attraction that packed Everybody's on Saturday was a World film feature presenting Montagu Love in a stirring story laid entirely in Belgium "The Cross Bearer." This picture is of a different kind than Rasputin," the previous film that everybody in Isew Plymouth; now knows, but it is of even a higher grade of excellence. The scenes are laid admirably, and there is a dramatic interest present in even the incidentals. Beautiful settings, the showing of a real character of the Belgian invasion, and the struggle between a man of God and a creature of evil for the possession of a girl makes a clevel and rather original tale. The supports to "The Cross Bearer" are good, the Fox comedy, "Tom and Jerry Mix'," being a veritable wQiirl of merriment. Tonight witl be the final screening of this programme.
