ENEMY RETIRING IN NORTH. NORTHERN KARELIA CLEARED. ' London, Oct. 11. A North Russia official report states that on Sunday the enemy! counterattacked by river and land at Seletskaya, 170 miles from Archangel. We beat off the enemy driving him up t'lie river. In the Shenkursk region, between Archangel, the Vologda railway, and the Dwina River, the enemy is still retiring, followed up by the RussoAmericans. On the Murmansk front the Allies, operating from Kandalaksha, on the White Sea, 180 miles soiith of Murmansk, drove invading patrols across the Finnish frontier and cleared Northern Karelia.—Ausr-N.Z.
