' Mighty Aero Armada. Smashes Enemy's Formatfonsl Received Oct. 13, C.5 p.m. London, Oct. 11. Reuter's correspondent at American headquarters, writing on tfhe nth, says ha witnessed a magnificent spectacle yes-« terday. The Germans were reported to be massing for a counter-attack east of, the Meuse. Two hundred tombing machines were despatched with 32 tons o? bombs, also 100 chasers and 50 triplanes. The machines covered the entire sky* groups of a dozen flying in V-shape for-" mation, the rays of the sun turning thera into flashes of silver, till the entirq heaven IsparMed with its new eonstella-. tions. They crossed the river, and, W ■face of their bombing, tb4 enemy counter-* attack melted away. Twelve German planes were unhappy enough to meet that mighty armada, andj were sent crashing to the ground.—i Reuter. Received Oct. 13, 5.5 p.m. New York, Oct. 12. The New York Times' correspondent afe the American front states that anl American bombing, squadron, consisting of more than 350 machines, dropped 33 tons of explosives behind the German lines between Wavrille and Damvilliersj The squadron was composed of 200 bombing planes, 100 pursuit and 60 triplanes.
