PROPOSED SCHOOL COMMITTEES' OOOTERENCE. By Telegraph,—Press Association. Palmerston N„ Last NightAt a meeting of tho executive of the School Committees' Association held to-day, it was decided to circularise school committees throughout the Dominion, also the New Zealand Labor organisations, asking them to send delegates to a meeting at Palmerston, when the following resolutions will be discussed:—(l) That, in the opinion of this meeting, the time has arrived when the educational grant should be raised to £3,000,000. (2) That the status of the teaching profession be raised and adequat# salaries paid in keeping with the work. (3) That greater inducements Ibe given to young people to take 'lip the work of school teaching. .. ■
