A wedding that attracted considers!jh attention in this district was solemnised at the Presbyterian Church this afternoon, when ifiss M. Reid, daughter of Mr. A. W Reid, one of our best-known wttre»B, was married to Mr. Fred Wilkie, at one time a_ resident of Stratford, Vut now sheep' farming in Hawke's Bay. The cbufch was well filled with interested 4pectat.Pl l ), friends of the contracting parties, who had decorated the building in bnn«r of the bride, who has been a member of the clioir for a considerable period. Via Wljyie (Christchurch) was bridesmaid and Mr A. Wilkie bestman. The wedding was a military one, both brothers being in uniform. A motor car collision occurred on Twsday »v«r<ia.i!. when, near Ngaere, \fr. Frederic, »>f Messrs McMillan and Frederic was thrown out of his car through coming mto contact with a car driven bv Mr. E. Crobtree, of Eltham Nfr Vrederic sustained a dislocated shoulder, whilst his car also required attention. Mr. Crabtree. who bad a nassenger, brought Mr. Frederic to Stratford, where ho received medical treatment
At the Douglas salsyards the pedigree Shorthorn bull, by Lord Kitchener, donated by Mr. Arthur Needbam, realised £8 Bs, Mr J. L Lucena, Toko Boad, being the purchaser. The proceeds go to the Country Copper Trifl competition. A sudden ending to a young life has to 'be recorded in the case of Mbert C. Rudings, aged 12 rears, whose parents reside in Falstaff Street On Saturday the boy was unwell, and on Sunday medical attention was necessary to an abscess on the leg.
