SUCCESS OF AMERICAN FLYERS. New York, Sept. 28. The Washington correspondent of the New York Times says that American flyers with the British forces on the west front brought down fiO enemy aeroplanes and 7 balloons from July I to August 28, according to the figures received by the War Department.—Aus. ACTIVITY OF BRITISH AIRMEN. London, Sept. 29. Sir Douglas Haig's aviation report states: "Our aeroplanes heavily machinegunned enemy troops and transports at the canal crossings and oh the roads. We destroyed eight balloons, shot down 23 aeroplanes, and drove down 20 uncontrollable. Nineteen of ours are miss-ing."—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assoc. and Reuter.
