A large attendance of the public welcomed Sapper George Morrison and Private Sydney Beure home at the Toko Coronation Hall on Friday evening. On 'behalf of tlie Patriotic Committee, Messrs W. H. Were and E. Marfcll expressed the pleasure at seeing the two soldiers once more back in their midst, and trusted that both would soon be restored to health. Private Beare has been back several months, but this was the first opportunity Toko had of publicly welcoming- him, owing to iiis being a ease that necessitated lengthy treatment in Wellington Hospital. The returned men fittingly acknowledged the welcome. Acceptable vocal items were contributed by Miss Martin (Pembroke Road), Mrs. Thomas (Douglas), and Mr. Rae (Wanganui). Music for the dance was supplied by Messrs J. P. Coreen (cornet), C. C'oreen (piano), and Mrs. Rae (violin), and was voted just the very best. The floor had undergone a thorough preparation, and was in fine order, whilst the veteran pair, Messrs Max GernhoelTer and J.
