TO THE ELECTORS OF TAEANAKI Ladies and Gentlemen, — TTAVING acceded to the request of a large deputation at New Plymouth on the 21st instant to allow myself to be nominated as a candidate at the forthcoming by-election for Taranaki, and also having the approval of the Reform Party, I desire to announce that it is my intention to contest the seat as a supporter of the National Government. TN pursuance of the Legislature Act, 190S, and its Amendments, I, James Jordan, Returning Officer for the Electoral District of Taranaki, do hereby give notice that, by virtue of a Writ bearing date the 25th day of September 1918, finder the hand of the Clerk of the Writs, an election will be held for the return of a qualified person to serve as member for the said district; and that the latest hour for receiving nominations of candidates will be noon on the 30th day of September IMS; and that the poll, if necessary, will be taken at the several pollingplaces of the said district on the 10th day of October 1918. Every man desirous of becoming a candidate must be nominated by not less ■ than two electors of the district, by a nomination-paper as prescribed by section 105 of the said Act, delivered to the Returning Officer on or before Noon on the 30th day of September 1918. Hours of Polling are from 9 a.m. to 0 p.m.
