WEDDING.
6TRAOK—LUCAS. A military wedding took place nt St. John's Church, Latimer Square, Christchnrob. on Wednesday. September 4, vMicn Lieutenant George S. Wrack, .M.A. (71h Reinforcements), second son of Mr. and Mrs. Straek, of Hawera, was married to Miss Annie Louise (Bae), P'cond daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lucas, "Wyaliflete," Upawa, the eo-einony being performed by the Rev. P, J. Cocks. Tlie girl friends bad beautifully decorated the church with spring flowers and fruit blossom and long green trailers. A wedding boll of white flowers, suspended by a trail of gr'een leaves, hung above the bridal group. The bride, who was jiven away by her father, looked very charming in a dainty gown of white crepe de chine, with pearl and diamante girdle. A coronet of oramre blossoms secured the veil, and a bridal bouquet c.omrdeted the pretty toilette. Miss Beatrice Lucas, sister of the bride, and Miss Biti Straek. sister of the bridegroom, \vero bridesmaids. The former wore a most becoming frock of pale mauve crepe de chine and ninon, with n black picture hat wreathed with small mauve and pink flowers; the latter wore a dainty pink crepe de chins frock and a deep vicux rose hat with a blue silk circlet, and each carried a handsome bouquet exactly matching her gown. The brother-comrades attending (be bridegroom were Lieutenant, A. East (Main Bodv, Serbian Medal) and Sergeant F Ohappel (7th Reinforcements, Military Medal)'. Mrs. Lucas wore a. green crepe de •bine gown and a black hat: Mrs. Straek, green costume and green s*ilk hal: Mrs. Jackson (Blenheim), sister of the bride, wore a shamrock green frock: and Mrs. Beid (Dttnedin), sister of the bridegroom!. », grey velvet frock with *oudiei of white fur. A reception was afterwards held at the residence of the bride's parents, and among the many •'nests were:—Miss Lam-on (Haverai, Misses Birrell and Pringle (Timani).and Captain Bennetts fPalmerston North). .Amonor the various toasts honored was the "War Toast" (of absent 'mothers}, proposed bv Die bridegroom, The presents, which included many cheques, were numerous and very beautiful, showing the esteem in which the young couple are held. The bride's travelling dress was a. gr,-;v costume with grey lint and silver fox furs.
