"RETIRED FARMERS' DAY."
To the Editor. Sir,—T noticed in this morning's issue of your paper that next Saturday the golfers are to have a day at the Red Cross Mart, a very commendable id<a indeed. Seeing that nearly all classes of the community have at one time or another devoted their energies to the collection of money for the Red Cross fund I would respectively suggest that "The Retired Fanners" living in and within the immediate vicinity .if New 'Plymouth should put their shoulders to the wheel and "declare a day", 1 understand there is quite an army of them and have not the slightest doubt but that if they took the matter up in a whole-hearted manner they would make a hugh success of it Trusting that the suggestion will bo acted upon.—l am, etc., Dr. DICK.
