TARANAKI PRESBYTERY.
MEETJKG AT HAWERA The Presbytery of Taraimki met at i-lawera on Tuesday (reports the Star), the Rev. T. Tait presiding. The report on the visitation of Stratford congregation was submitted by the Mclvor. The report showed it distinct and increasing advance in all brandies of the church's activities. The Presbytery adopted a "finding," expressing its profound thankfulness at the good work being carried on. Ministers, office-bearers, and congregation were congratulated on the progress attained in these times of stress and strain. The Rev. D. Mr-Ivor was appointed to exchange with the Rev. J. I). C. Madill on a suitable occasion, and read the finding to Stratford congregation. ' The grants in aid of the work at the various Home Mission stations were recommended on the lines of last year's quota. Tiie following were chosen as representatives to the General Assembly, appointed to meet in Christchurch in November: Revs Gray, Madill. and Blundell, the sessions of Waverley, Hawera and Eltham being requested to appoint representative elders. The Rev. D. Mclvor was appointed to draw up an itinerary for Miss Jack, who visits Taranaki shortly to advance the claims of Maori Mission work. The Rev. T. Tait announced that the following itinerary had been arranged for the Moderator of Assembly. Hon. J". G. W. Aitken, M.L.C., Sunday October 13, Hawera 11 a.m.; 10th, Stratford; 17th, Presbytery (Hawera); 18th, Patea. Tho Rev. O. Blundcll gave notice of a : motion urging the coming Assembly to take steps to ascertain whether the membership of tho Presbyterian-Church would favor union with such, other churdlies in the land as might reciprocate such an advance.
