BRENTA VALLEY DEFENCES. A FIERCE STRUGGLE. London, Sept. 17. Mr Ward Price, writing from Italian headquarters, says: Oil either side of the precipitous gorge of theßrontft River, where it leaves the Austrian and enters t'iie Italian lines, there is a formidable svstem. of wire entanglements filling the' whole valley, half being under the wafer of the rushing stream or on walls of steep roek cliffs, which are also honeycombed with machine-sun posts. ■ The Italian at daybreak, rushed the whole defensive system and took prisoners after a s'hort fierce fight in the dark ravine.
