NEW PLYMOUTH HIGH SCHOOLS BOARD.
monthly meeting, The Board of Governors of the Sew Plymouth High Schools met on Monday evening. Present: Messrs D. Hutchen , (chairman), H. Trimble, J. 3. Fox, L. C. | gladden, S. G- Smith, A. Morton, F. W Atkinson, and E. P. Webster. Leave of absence was granted to Mr. R. W. EX Robertson. The Farm Committee reported concerning the purchase of tools for use by tho agricultural classes, and its action was confirmed. * , The result of the interview with Sir James Allien and the Hon. D. H. Guthrie was reported upon by the chairman. . tt was resolved to send written parfcicu- , lars of the matter to the Ministers. The proposed war scholarship was furither discussed, and eventualy held over till tho nest meeting. • Certain sehoool requirements asked for bv the principal of the Girls' School were granted. The question of the insurances on all ithe board's properties waa fully dis. .cussed, and it was decided that at the expiry of the present policies one new policy shouldbe taken out to cover all the properties, the company to be selected by ballot and to be recommended to reinsure as equally as possible with all the companies at present holding policies. A draw then: took place to decide which company should get the business. An offer from Mr. G. Pott to lease his farm to the board for a. further term was referred to the Farm Committee to report on at the next meeting. Accounts amounting to" £Bl3 Qa Sd were passed for payment.
