FOOTBALL.

SEVEN A-SIDE TOURNAMENT. Ten teams have been nominated for the seven a-side tournament to be held at Stratford on Thursday, September 28. The teams are: Stratford (2), Opunake (2), New Plymouth Rovers (2), Clifton, New Plymouth Technical College, New Plymouth High Scfhool, and Midhirst. jGold medals have been donated by [Messrs J. McCluggage, E. Jackson, S. ShaTp, T. Sheah'an, R. Masters, B. J. Peters, and J. Petrie. Shops will close at 11 aan., and play (on the A. and P. showground) will commence a)/ 1 p.m. The Stratford Band will be in attendance, and the Ladies' Patriotic Committee will have refreshments on sale. Proceeds are in aid of the Red Cross Copper Trail, and a good sum is expected for tihis noble cause. (Particulars will be advertised in due course.
