( Fer Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. High northerly winds have ruled, especially in and southward of Cook Strait, through a westerly storm which is now enveloping the Dominion. Dull and unsettled weather lias prevailed, and rain is spreading over #ie Dominion. Present indications are for north-westerly to south-westerly wind, strong to gale. Expect stormy weather, probably with snow on higher levels, and flooded rivers in Westland and Southland. The barometer is falling for a short time In the north, but rising soon in the south.
