MOTOR-CYCLE RACING.

EGMONT MOTOR-aTJLE CLUB,

A Well-attended meeting of the a.l>ova elu!b was held at Hawera on Friday evening last. Present: Messrs J. Gray (chair), D. J. Goodwin, GIT. Kimball, L. Lynskev, W, Claringbold, C. Harrison. 6. L. Lewis, A. Sprang, A. Kean, and VV. V. Patterson (secretary), also Messrs Mcsrs 11, L. Spratt, J. Kelly, CGomer, and A. B. Stewart, representing the Returned Soldiers' Association.

On the motion of the chairman, it was unanimously decided that the committees of the Egmont M<jtor-cycle Club and the Returned Soldiers' Association amalgamate for the purpose of making arrangements for the motor-cycle races which are to be held in H&wera in November next, it having -been decided by the club to make a donation of half the net proceeds to the Returned Soldiers' Fund

The question of the advisability of changing the date allotted by the N.Z. A.C.IT., viz., November 20, eame in for considerable discussion, and it was de_'idei that a deputation wait on the Tradesmen's Association with a view of having the half-day on November 21 instead of tfoxember 20, and so afford the public of surrounding towns an op-port-unity of witnessing the races, from which many were debarred from doing hst meeting. It was also resolved that the secretary make application to the, Minister of Railways for the south train to be delayed on hour.

The secretary read a letter from the N.Z.A.MJ. informing the club it bad been allotted the light-weight championship of New Zealand for its forthcoming meeting. This, it was agreed, should warrant a very successful meeting and prove an interesting race among the "crack" riders.

Various sub-committees were formed to make preliminary arrangements and to report at next meeting of the combined committees
