The Australians, after visiting the ,Australian battlefield in vicinity of : Uforonne, joined the New Zealanders andqpent several days with their troops iiv tjie region of Bapaume. They also went' to Ypres, Arras, and Vimy. . ; The editors were received by Sir ,» Douglas Haig, visited Pozierea, Albert,, the Maine, and the Vesle, and witnessed ' , the shelling of Messines and Mt. Keminel. Prom the Vimy ridge they saw " v the British guns punishing the German; support lines after the evacuation, ,of j Lens.'-' i The New Zealanders were fortunate - in arriving at the positions at Havrineourt from which the New Zealanders , the same day had driven out the Germans. They saw the wounded receiving first dressings. The many German dead presented a gruesome sight. The party traversed a distance of 150 miles, and appreciated the opportunities of meeting Generals Monash, Lawrence, Rawlinson, Horne, and Russell, and were received by MM. Poincare and Clemenceau. The editors were greatly impressedwith the spirit of the Allied troopß. They learned the full facts regarding the doings of thoii' own divisions, and returned with high hopes for the future following the splendid British, French, and American offensive.
